I hope to avoid a scene like this on October 30th. Yes it's true.

Despite the advice of physicians, aging experts, friends and a handful of world leaders, I have decided to try once more for that elusive 02:59:59 marathon. Perhaps the fifth time is a charm...or perhaps it will serve to only further cement in my own personal athletic annals that time is not on my side.

Regardless of the outcome, I am proud to once again work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area as a member of their Run for Kids Marathon Challenge Team. This is a wonderful charity with whom I have participated in my last two marathons. While I may not have reached my personal running goal--yet--I am blessed to have been able to raise worthwhile donations for this fantastic organization.

Over the course of the months leading up to the Marine Corps Marathon, I'll post updates here on my fundraising and training progress. Thank-you in advance for your kindness and support of me in this effort.

Sincerely,
Chris
