Workout: Lactate threshold: 9mi w/4mi @ 15K or half-marathon pace.
I really should be using my HRM to gauge the intensity of these efforts, instead of relying on my old Timex, because my splits were not ideal, to say the least:
Mile 1: 06:03
Mile 2: 06:24
Mile 3: 06:29
Mile 4: 06:10
Total: 25:06
The math adds up to about a 06:17 pace, which I think is a bit unrealistic to maintain over 26+ miles. The 6:44 pace I established in Sunday's race seems more attainable, though the trade-off of an additional 13.1 miles versus the hills is debatable as to which would affect my pace more.
