The other day I was churning through some old boxes and came across various paraphernalia which brought back memories of old ND regimes and players...

1. A letter I wrote to Coach Willingham after a successful first-year campaign, along with his reply. I was not-so-coyly attempting to obtain tickets for the upcoming ND-FSU game. Thank goodness that fell through! Still, I have to wonder if he regrets not taking me up on my offer.

2. Replies from Coach Lou Holtz after I sent congratulations on his 1992 Sugar Bowl win over #3 Florida, as well as the Gamecocks' fine season in 2001. He was gracious, as always.

3. A Paul Hornung autograph. I honestly have no recollection where or when I received this. Perhaps it was the same ND-FSU weekend in 1993 when everyone got loaded, not the least of which was Mr. Golden Boy himself!

4. A photo of touchdown Timmy Brown, taken at the ND vs. BC game in 1987. With the exception of Rocket Ismail, ND hasn't had a true "gamechanger" like the Heisman winner, Mr. T.
