Why Washington, D.C. Is Hotly Pursuing Philadelphia as Worst Sports Town
More broadcast lunacy...
Apparently, Washington, D.C., is battling the City of Thuggerly Love for the title of "Worst Sports Town, USA".
On Saturday, due to certain commitments, my training run was delayed until 12 noon. No problem--I'd finish by 2pm and be home in time to clean up my umpiring gear, have lunch and head out to the 5pm doubleheader I was working. And it's not like I would miss any important sporting events, with the Irish kicking off at 7:45pm and the Yanks-BooSox at 7:05pm (per my Yankees schedule courtesy of Modell's).
What? 2:05 pm game? AAARGH! Well, not to worry. I can still catch an hour or so on the radio while I clean my equipment in the garage.
Spinning around the dial, I found the following choices:
1. MD-UVa game (3 stations; 1 UVa, 2 for MD).
2. VTech-WVU game (2 stations).
3. Navy-Duke game (1 station; though I missed the Feinstein "F$%#^&" remark.)
Un. Believable.
