Irish Capture 24th National Title
While it would be highly unrealistic to expect next year's football squad to figure into the mix for the national championship, it is nevertheless encouraging to have on board a new head coach whose expectations for the future are nothing short of such. Hopefully, the Irish will soon be able to start re-building on tradition instead of re-reading history.
By defeating UCLA on Dec.2, the University of Notre Dame not only captured its second national title in women's soccer, but also its 24th overall in the team sports arena. The breakdown:

Fencing (6) - 1977, 1978, 1986, 1987, 1994 and 2003.
